Honors College
In the spring of 2019, Dr. Barbara McMillin, President of Blue Mountain Christian University established the Honors College which was designed to provide opportunities for highly talented and inspired students to excel in all aspects of life. Thirteen freshmen enrolled as the inaugural class. Enrollment in the honors college is by invitation only.
Mission: Blue Mountain Christian University Honors College offers intensive experiential and academic opportunities to highly talented and inspired students of Blue Mountain Christian University in a challenging and nurturing environment in order to prepare them for graduate school, professional study, and careers in the public, private or nonprofit sectors.
Student Learning Outcomes:
- Demonstrate the ability to write and speak at a professional standard (ability to write in the proper style and tone for the occasion; ability to produce work free from errors in pronunciation, grammar, and spelling).
- Demonstrate basic networking and teaming strategies.
- Incorporate primary and secondary research in original work.
- Reflect critically on and integrate knowledge and issues within the broader societal and human context.
- Solve problems and work on projects with minimum supervision.
- Articulate a Christian Worldview when confronted with contemporary issues.
- Participate in community service.
