General Information
Automobiles. All students are required to register any motor vehicle parked on campus with the Office of Student Life. To register your vehicle and reserve your parking decal, you should submit the form electronically by going to Vehicle Registration. Commuters who register online may pick up the decal on the day of registration in the Office of Student Life. Students living in residence housing who register a vehicle online will receive their parking decal when they check into housing. Vehicle registration will also take place in the Office of Student Life during the time of registration for classes for any student who did not submit an online form. The parking permit must be displayed on student vehicles at all times. Replacement permits cost $35.
Due Process. Blue Mountain Christian University offers an appeals process to all students who feel the facts surrounding disciplinary action merit an appeal. The appeals process, as outlined in Policy 4.13: Student Judiciary, is found in the student handbook. Students wishing to appeal a parking ticket must go to Access BMC to submit an appeal.
Student Concerns and Complaints. The Office of Student Life functions as a clearing house for all complaints. This office directs complaints to the appropriate office for action and maintains complaint records. Informal discussions are encouraged for any situation which could result in a student filing a complaint. If an informal solution is neither successful nor advisable, the student should adhere to the following procedure:
- A student complaint form should be submitted to the Dean of Students. Each item on the form should be addressed and accompanied by any pertinent documentation. The form must be submitted within 10 business days of the alleged conflict or action.
- Upon receipt of the completed form, the complaint will be forwarded to the appropriate office.
- The final review will be filed in the Office of Student Life within 15 business days of the date the complaint is filed.

Veterans Affairs: The Mississippi State Approving Agency (SAA) is the approving authority of education and training programs for Mississippi. This office investigates complaints of GI Bill beneficiaries. While most complaints should initially follow the Blue Mountain Christian University grievance policy process, if the situation cannot be resolved with the University, the beneficiary should contact the Mississippi State Approving Agency via email at saa@msva.ms.gov.
Matters Not Listed. See University Policy concerning the matter found in the current BMCU undergraduate catalog, the current student handbook, or the employee handbook. After all complaint procedures have been exhausted, the President serves as the final appeal of all matters.
Threat or Harm to Self or Others
Blue Mountain Christian University is concerned about the well-being of all students. The University takes seriously any behavior, including a non-privileged verbal statement, which tends to demonstrate a student may harm himself/herself or another. Such behavior demonstrates that the student may be in danger, or may be intending harm to another person and interferes with the educational efforts of those involved and with the University’s mission to educate students.
Blue Mountain Christian University assigns faculty and staff members to serve on the Behavior Intervention Team (BIT) to assist students who are in need of mental health counseling and works with local agencies to treat students with counseling services and resources.
Any student who attempts to harm or harms himself/herself or another may not live in University residential facilities, participate in University academic programs, or participate in other University activities the University may deem to be harmful to the student until cleared to do so.
A student may be required to seek professional help if physical or psychological health problems place that student’s life in potential danger, or impairs his ability to maintain an academic program, or when his behavior is a serious disruption to others. The cost of evaluation and/or treatment will be the responsibility of the student. (See Policy 4.20 for additional information.)
