Performance Requirements-21 hours required. Addttional hours encouraged

Students must be enrolled in a major ensemble every semester.  (A major ensemble does not include Pep Band or Jazz Band.)  Small ensemble membership is strongly encouraged but not required.

Applied Music requirements

At least 3 semesters of 300-level applied music must be taken at BMC.  A 300-level barrier exam must be passed to enroll in 300-level applied music.  Must be primary instrument.  Weekly performance lab is required.  Nine hours must be 300-level or above.

MUS 100 RECITALS and ACTIVITIES

A minimum of seven semesters of MUS 100:  Recitals & Activities is required for the completion of the B.M.E. Instrumental.  This is both the individual, lab-based performance component of the student's applied lessons, and the assessment tool for concert attendance each semester of enrollment.
